The Australian Education Union represents and advocates for all teaching staff in public education, as well as many support workers.

How much will my membership cost?

For full time teaching staff, principals, trainers and lecturers, union membership fees are just 0.88% of your annual gross salary (inc. GST). So, if you earn $100,000 per annum, your fortnightly payment would be less than $34.00. And remember that your fees are tax deductible!

Why join the AEU NT?

The information on our website is available free of charge - but only financial members enjoy the protections of union membership and access to expert advice and support.

Union membership is like insurance for you if anything goes wrong at work - an accident, a disciplinary charge, bullying, underpayment or any other issue that might come up.

The support you need when you need it

As a member of the union, you will never be alone in meetings with management or forced to deal with complex issues on your own. Our staff are experts in industrial law, negotiation and advocacy. When we can't deal with an issue ourselves, we have support from a national office, other branches and a skilled team of lawyers.

I hereby apply for membership of the Australian Education Union Northern Territory (AEU NT) Branch, and upon admission agree to abide by the rules of the union. I agree to pay the AEU NT fees owing in accordance with the union’s fee schedule. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to inform the AEU NT of my current employment status to ensure I am in the correct category of membership. I understand that the union’s rules require me to give written notice of resignation and that I must provide at least 14 days’ notice.
