Bargaining to Win: Conference 2021
Alice Springs, 1-2 May
Sub-branches are asked to elect and register delegates ASAP to attend our upcoming annual Branch Conference.
Every AEU NT sub-branch (workplace) is entitled to elect at least one delegate, whose travel and accommodation costs will be funded by the AEU NT. Sub-branches may also submit business for debate and endorsement by Conference as AEU NT policy. These motions must be typed in a word processing format (such as Word or Google Docs) and emailed to [email protected].
This year's conference will take place at the Alice Springs Convention Centre over the May Day long weekend (1-2 May). Conference business will formally commence at 8.30am on Saturday 1 May and conclude by 3pm on Sunday 2 May.
The deadline for all motions and registrations is Friday 19 March. No applications or business received after this date will be accepted.
All delegates, Executive members and observers will need to register online. Please note we are not accepting paper-based registrations and for sub-branches sending more than one delegate, each delegate will need to complete the registration process.
Sub-branch motions and any other queries should be emailed to [email protected]. Alternatively, you may phone the office on (08) 8948 5399.
Sub-branches may put forward proposals for endorsement as AEU NT policy. These proposals should be general in nature (i.e. affecting more than just members in your workplace) and state clearly what actions you are seeking the union to take. As it is a bargaining year for most members and this Conference will endorse a log of claims for teacher bargaining, sub-branches are encouraged to focus on related matters. Motions must be typed in a word processing format (such as Word or Google Docs) and emailed to [email protected]. For more information on sub-branch motions, contact the Branch Secretary, Adam Lampe.
