AEU Election Update

Contested positions for Branch President and Women’s Officer are open for voting, with ballots due by 15 October. Several uncontested positions have been filled, and elections for AEU Federal roles have also concluded.

Scheduled Election E2024/70 (Branch Officers Elections)

 

Results have been declared for the uncontested positions in this election for officers on the AEU NT Branch Executive. Trilokesh Chanmugam has been elected as Vice-President (General), Brian Gray has been elected as Branch Treasurer and Amanda Vrymoet has been elected as Executive Councillor representing Indigenous teachers and Indigenous education workers in schools and educational institutions. The postal ballot opened on 09/09/2024 and closes on 15/10/2024 at 5pm AEST. Within 14 days of the close of the ballot, results of the election will be declared.

Insufficient Nominations Election E2024/87

Results have been declared for these several unfilled AEU Federal Committee and Conference roles representing the NT Branch. Amanda Vrymoet has been elected unopposed as the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Federal Conference Delegate and also as the Yalukit Yulendj (National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Committee) Member – General Division. Kaylee Kent was elected unopposed as the National Early Childhood Committee Member. Congratulations to both!

No nominations were received for the vacancies of National TAFE Council Executive Member, National TAFE Council Delegate or Yalukit Yulendj (National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Committee) Member – TAFE Division.
