A supplementary election is being conducted by the AEC to fill remaining Branch Conference Delegate vacancies for the 2026 Branch Conference in Alice Springs (14-15 August).
Note: You will also need to submit a separate EOI for funded travel and attendance. Without it, we cannot guarantee travel or accommodation, even if you are elected. Details at the bottom of this page.
Key dates
Nominations open: 9 June 2026
Nominations close: 5:00 pm ACST, 7 July 2026
Nomination withdrawal closes: 5:00 pm ACST, 14 July 2026
Postal ballot (if required): 3 August to 14 September 2026
Check your Sub-Branch’s available positions
Before nominating, check the election notice to see if your Sub-Branch has vacancies. If your Sub-Branch is not listed, there are no positions available. This is either because all delegate positions were filled in the Term 1 election, or because the sub-branch did not have the required financial membership at the time entitlements were determined by the Fair Work Commission.

Guide to Nominating in an AEC-Conducted Election
Letting us know you’ve nominated (optional)
The AEU NT does not manage or have any oversight of the election process. However, if you’d like to let us know you’ve nominated, you’re welcome to forward your sent email, portal confirmation, or AEC acknowledgement to aeunt@aeunt.org.au.
This is entirely optional and helps us understand participation across sub-branches.
EOI for funded travel and attendance
Nominating and attending are two separate steps. If you want the AEU to arrange travel, accommodation, and release from classes, you must also submit an EOI for funded attendance. Being elected does not guarantee funded travel without an EOI.
The EOI is a separate form that allows our team to book logistics ahead of vendor deadlines. Positions are limited, and Branch Executive will assess applications.
