Job application workshops and merit selection training opportunities

Job application workshops and merit selection training opportunities

The Department of Education has organised upcoming professional development opportunities for teachers which the union has agreed to promote. The first is in job application writing, to provide advice on how to successfully apply for permanent and promotional positions. The second is merit selection training, which is a requirement for all staff sitting on selection panels. We encourage members at least several members in each workplace to undertake this training to ensure there is union representation on selection panels whenever possible.

Job Application Writing
Facilitated by Sharon Winks, Consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers, this course is designed to provide current employees with expert tips on resume writing, selecting the appropriate referees and being prepared for an interview.
