Voting is currently open for elections to the AEU NT Branch Executive, our union’s governing body between annual conferences.
All 19 Executive positions are elected by our members. Four positions are being contested in these elections: President, Treasurer, Women’s Officer and Indigenous Officer. We have allowed each candidate to submit a photo and 250-word statement, and these are attached for your information.
If your current postal address listed with us is accurate, you should receive a ballot paper within the next few days. The election is being conducted by the Australian Electoral Commission. If you do not receive a ballot paper or have other questions in relation to the election, you should contact the AEC on 8982 8064 or [email protected].
The election ballot closes on Monday 17 October – your ballot must be received by the AEC by that date to be counted. For remote members especially, this makes it important to cast your vote well in advance of the closing date. We strongly encourage you to ensure your ballot is posted to the AEC by 30 September – the last day of Term 3.
We urge you to take part in your union’s democratic processes.
