AEU NT Officer Election Outcomes

The Australian Education Union Northern Territory Branch has concluded its 2024 officer elections, with the results now confirmed by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC).

Contested Offices:

 

The candidates for the following contested positions were elected by postal ballot:

Branch President: Michelle Ayres was re-elected with 73.65% of the votes.

Women’s Officer: Emily Parker was elected with 72.29% of the votes.

Only 9% of issued voting materials were returned, indicating low voter engagement.

 

Uncontested Offices:

 

The following positions were uncontested, with candidates automatically elected:

Vice President (General Division): Trilokesh Chanmugam

Vice President (TAFE Division): No nominations were received, leaving this position vacant.

Treasurer: Brian Gray

Executive Councillor for Indigenous Teachers and Education Workers: Amanda Vrymoet

 

AEC Post-Election Report Highlights

 

The AEC confirmed compliance with the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009 and provided feedback on procedural aspects.

No irregularities were identified during the election process.
